PROFIL LEUKOSIT PADA SAPI FH (Friesian Holstein) SELAMA MASA PERTUMBUHAN

RINGKASAN

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil leukosit pada sapi FH selama masa pertumbuhan. Hewan coba yang digunakan adalah 15 ekor sapi FH yang sehat secara klinis. Sapi dibagi menjadi lima kelompok berdasarkan umur yaitu 1, 3, 6, 9, dan 12 bulan. Pengambilan sampel darah dilakukan melalui vena jugularis, menggunakan venoject yang berisi antikoagulan EDTA. Pemeriksaan jenis sel leukosit dilakukan dengan membuat preparat ulas darah dan diberi pewarnaan Giemsa, kemudian diamati di bawah mikroskop. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa profil limfosit dan total leukosit memperlihatkan nilai yang relatif stabil pada umur 3-9 bulan dan nilai tertinggi dijumpai pada umur 12 bulan. Jumlah neutrofil tertinggi dijumpai pada umur 1 bulan dan jumlah terendah dijumpai pada umur 6 bulan.

ABSTRACT

The aim of this study was to investigate the leukocyte profile of growing calves in order to evaluate the need for defining reference values at different age groups. Fifteen Friesian Holstein calves were divided into five groups of age (1, 3, 6, 9, and 12 months). Each animal was examined and considered to be clinically normal at the time of blood collection. Blood samples were taken from jugular vein using EDTA anticoagulated venoject. Differential leukocyte blood were stained by Giemsa and performed microscopically. The results showed that the profile of lymphocytes and total leukocytes showed a relatively stable value at the age of 3-9 months and the highest numbers of leukocyte and lymphocyte were at 12 months of age. The highest numbers of neutrophil were at 1 months of age and the lowest were at 6 months of age.
